| | BAND WOWS CROWDS ON TRAM
SHEFFIELD indie band Paperdots played a different kind of track on the 22nd July - when they performed a special intimate gig on Supertram to promote the following weekend's Tramlines music event. The childhood pals were asked by Travel South Yorkshire (TSY) to give passengers an unexpected musical treat as a way of encouraging people to use public transport to get to the free musical festival that was held in Sheffield on Saturday 25th July and Sunday 26th July 2009. And so James Leesley, Jonathan Birch, Scott Howes and Anthony Barlow, performed an acoustic set at Castle Square tram stop that blew everyone away, before climbing on board and continuing the party. “It’s not every day that you get a live gig on the tram,” said Richard Donson, 17, “They were absolutely brilliant.” |
