| | Supertrams Wear Poppies With Pride In a departure from previous years, the launch took place alongside a Supertram adorned with a large Poppy. In a show of support for the Poppy Appeal, Stagecoach Supertram bought hundreds of pounds worth of the large Poppies which graced the front of every tram in the city. Tram drivers and conductors played a vital part in keeping the City moving during the Second World War, and the support of Supertram is a valuable recognition of the sacrifices made by public transport workers. As well as the Lord Mayor, representatives from the Royal British Legion and Supertram were present at the launch. |
